Bank statements are personal. This page explains what Bank Statement Convert (bankstatementconvert.net, "we") does with the files and details you give us. Bank Statement Convert is the data controller. Questions go to support@bankstatementconvert.net.
Your statements
- Statements are converted on our own server in the UK.
- The file you upload is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes, whether or not it worked.
- The converted transactions are kept for 24 hours so you can preview and download them, then deleted. We keep only a record that a conversion happened: the bank name, statement dates and number of transactions.
- Downloads are created when you ask for them and are not stored.
Your account
If you create an account we keep your email address, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, your purchases and how many statements you have left. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. We keep account records while your account is open and purchase records for as long as UK tax law requires.
Cookies
The site uses three cookies so it can work: one keeps your conversions linked to your browser, one keeps you logged in, and one remembers whether you are looking at the UK or US pages. We also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people open. Google sets its own cookies for that and processes the data in the United States. We do not use advertising cookies.
We email you about your account, such as password resets. We may also send occasional tips and offers about Bank Statement Convert. You can say no when you sign up, and unsubscribe from any of these emails. Emails are sent through Brevo, our email provider.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@bankstatementconvert.net. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
